Pancakes Anyone?
Bring the entire family out for a pancake breakfast this Saturday, March 27, beginning at 6:00 am hosted by the Opelika Lions Club. Each pancake meal is only $5.00 and all proceeds go to benefit the Opelika Lions’ events throughout the year, including The Miracle Field, Camp ASCCA, and the Lions Alabama Sight Programs just to name a few! This wonderful breakfast will take place at Opelika Middle School on Denson Drive. Bring your apetite and a friend for an enjoyable breakfast that will benefit a great cause.

Come on out to the 18th Annual Christmas Light Festival this Saturday from 5:30 to 9:30 pm at the Montgomery Zoo! Bring the whole family to enjoy live entertainment, arts and crafts, gifts, food, and pictures with Santa. You can view the light displays by foot, or take a train ride around the zoo to see the thousands of lights throughout the park. Admission for adults and chilren 3 and up is $10, and all children 2 and under are FREE!

Ready to kick off the Christmas season? What better way to do it than with all your Auburn family and friends this Thursday evening at 5:30 pm in downtown Auburn. The night will begin with a cheerful Christmas Parade sponsored by the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. Afterwards, join the Auburn University family on Samford Lawn for a holiday celebration beginning at 6:30 pm!

Thanksgiving Day Brunch Extravaganza!
Looking for something new to do this Thanksgiving? Look no further! The Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center will host the Thanksgiving Day Brunch Extravaganza at the Ariccia Italian Trattoria and Bar this Thursday, November 25. Arricia seatings will be held at 12:00 and 2:30 pm and Grand Ballroom seatings will take place at 2:00 and 4:30 pm. Tickets for adults are $29.95 and tickets for children 12 and under are $12.95. Annual Poinsettia Sale
Come on out tomorrow, November 21, from 9 am until 3 pm and show your support for the Junior League of Lee County by purchasing a beautiful poinsettia from their annual truck sale! The sale will take place at the Wachovia Bank parking lot on the corner of East University and Opelika Road. Several varieties will be available including red, white, and even marble. All proceeds will go to support the programs for the children of Lee County. What better way to get into the Christmas spirit early than by enjoying one of these gorgeous poinsettias and supporting a wonderful cause!
2009 National Peanut Festival
Looking for something fun to do this weekend with the entire family? Bring everyone out to the 2009 National Peanut festival in Dothan. The event began on October 30 and will continue until Novemeber 8. There will be amusement rides, food, arts and crafts, concerts, shows, contests, beauty pageants, and of course lots of peanuts! Approximately half of all the peanuts in the United States are grown within a 100 mile radius of Dothan, and the Peanut Festival is the largest in the country. The festival is held each year to honor peanut farmers and celebrate their harvest season. The event will take place on Highway 231 just three miles south of Ross Clark Circle. This is an exciting event you don’t want to miss!

9th Annual Downtown Trick or Treat
Bring all your princesses, monsters, ballerinas, and clowns to the 9th Annual Downtown Trick or Treat this Thursday, October 29 at 6:00 pm for some trick or treat fun! All downtown merchants will be handing out treats and special Halloween sounds will fill the air. Also, don’t miss your chance to win the Best Costume Contest! All chilren under 12 are invited and all parents must accompany their children for the evening. Happy Halloween!

Auburn Roads
Mark your calendars this Thursday evening, Oct. 15, at 6:00 pm for a night of family fun at Keisel Park. Bring dinner and a blanket and even the family dog for a night under the stars while enjoying local and regional musicians throughout the park. This event is free and open to the public and will take place at Keisel Park off Chadwick Lane in Auburn.

Pine Hill Cemetery Tour
Happy Halloween! Looking for something new to do this holiday? Look no further! Come on out to Pine Hill Cemetery at 303 Armstrong Street in Auburn for a one of a kind tour led by the early inhabitants of Auburn. Pine Hill Cemetery is the oldest of Auburn’s 5 burial grounds and dates back to 1837. The luminary tour will begin at 7:00 pm and will continue until 9:00pm. Each tour is led by one of Auburn earliest inhabitants, and each charater will tell you their story as well as their significance in Auburn history. Parking will be provided at Auburn Junior High Schoool and transportation will be provided to the cemetery. Tickets are $10 each and will be available at the gates. This is a very special event you do not want to miss!
